Composite Trumps Cast Iron

It's time to rave about our Gray BLANCO Single-Basin, Undermount Composite Sink. (What a mouthful!) We have been extremely happy with this kitchen update; the sink is so incredibly quiet and easy to clean. It's scratch, stain, and heat resistant. It's 80% granite, yet lightweight and easy to install. It sits nicely as an undermount and looks like it was custom made for our kitchen!

As a bonus, this purchase was cheaper than the farmhouse sink we originally thought about installing. Once we started formulating kitchen ideas, we noticed that our design style simply directed us away from the farmhouse look and more towards industrial and modern. And that's the beauty of remodeling - we control the finishing touches, creating a look and feel that fits our personal preferences!

During the demo phase of our kitchen, we had the existing cast iron sink removed. While the old, heavy duty sink was a rare gem (today, it would cost us $1200+ to buy a sink like that new), it simply did not have the look we wanted for our kitchen. It was extremely large and not an undermount. It just did not pair well with our quartz countertops. So the lovely triple-basin cast iron sink was kicked out and replaced with the sleek, single-basin composite sink. And it's the perfect size (definitely baby bath worthy)!

Removed this triple-basin, cast iron 46 inch sink...

Installed New Composite Sink and Kraus Faucet

Since the sink was a good deal, we splurged on the faucet. This faucet is Top Chef grade! It's quite the statement piece. I think it makes the sink look extra cool and classy!
