Last Hurrah

This will be the final post about our birthdays. Promise.

Last year, Ian celebrated his special day in Bali. This year, he turned the BIG 30 in the comforts of his mom's home. It was the perfect night, filled with family cooking and an outdoor fire. Also, Nan surprised the birthday boy with his own brilliantly decorated chair, a tradition that goes back to his childhood. Check out those streamers coming down from the chandelier! 

I had never heard of such a tradition, nor had my own "birthday chair".

Fast forward a month later to my 28th birthday, and sure enough, I walk into the house at 2am (after flying a 4 day trip), and Ian has wrapped up the prettiest pink chair for me, complete with bows and ribbons. Swoon. I love my husband.

Just wanted to add... THANK YOU to everyone who called, sent a text, and/or mailed a card/gift for our birthdays. You have no idea just how excited we get to see a mailbox full of sweet messages. The thoughtfulness of our loved ones is truly the best present. XOXO
