Dining Room Design

I've been formulating a plan for our dinning room. I'm dying for a longer table that can seat 8 people comfortably. Also, we have only one designated dining area, so I want to blend formal and informal elements. This room won't be flipped overnight; furniture and fixtures are pricey! But here are the ideas running through my head and the items we are saving for each month.

First, we just rolled out a new rug! Found at West Elm, I love the light gray color, soft texture, circular patterns, and chic-modern look of this wool rug. It's not an overwhelming statement piece. It's simple, and it's the foundation for this room design.

Second, I want to replace our chandelier with an orb. These light fixtures are somewhat trendy, but I can't help but love the look. It's non-traditional. It's bold. It will pair well with the curved designs in our rug.

Our Orb (Wayfair). Half the price!
(I plan to take off the one dangling diamond)

Next, I'm dreaming of long white curtains draping from the high ceilings. Clean, crisp, & chic.

Then comes the really big purchases: table and chairs. Still not set on anything specific, but I'm leaning towards a concrete table top. This again is another non-traditional item. But a concrete table has the durability I desire and the ability to look either formal or informal. Here is the table I really adore (but abhor the price).

And there are way too many chair choices! After we pick the table, then we can decide on the seats. I'm thinking a fabric covered chair in either dark gray, navy blue, or a creamy white color. But that's to be determined.
