Floored

Our first tile floor job is in the books! We had only a few bumps in the process. First, we ran out of tile the night we started. Then there was the stray piece of flying tile that landed in Ian's eye. Stupid tile saw! I mean stupid husband for not wearing protective goggles while using the tile saw! (Nan, don't worry- he knows better, and it was just a fluke occurrence.)

We chose a very neutral ceramic tile for the Jack&Jill bath. It's durable and easy to clean. But, I now realize it's going to be cold on bare feet in the wintertime. So I'll have to find soft bath mats to keep those feet from freezing. Other than that, we love the "mushroom" grout color and the overall result. I must say, this project was messy but not too terribly difficult or time consuming.

Let's do this.

I'm a bit of a spacer nazi, so most of the time, Ian would plow the mastic while I laid the tile and made sure the grout lines were straight and narrow.

And .... we're out of tiles. Dang it.

Messy Mushroom Grout.

Finished.
